When it is hot outside and you want to reach for a refreshing cocktail, look no further than the “Bar W Paloma”. A nice Tequila based drink with citrus and mint.
Ingredients:
3 ounces of high quality tequila | 2 ounces of Italian Soda (grapefruit or lemon) | 1 ounce of tonic water or 7up | one key lime | a few leaves of fresh mint
The process:
First, take a collins glass and fill it up with ice. To the top. A lot of ice. Its hot outside. And even if it isn’t, fill the damn cup up.
Fill it about half way up with Tequila. Yes, halfway. This is not a cocktail for children or the elderly.
Next step, take some fresh mint and slap it between your palms like you can’t get enough. Slap it good and hard. Slap it a few times, unleash that fresh aroma of sweet mint and drop a few leaves in the glass. Beating the mint helps release the flavor.
Next, take a key lime, slice it in half and squeeze half of it into your glass.
At this point you are close, hitting the home stretch.
Now pour a couple of ounces or so of grapefruit or lemon Italian soda (whatever you prefer, traditional Paloma is grapefruit, but you are drinking it so do what you want, sometimes I even put both, cause I don’t give AF. That’s why I do it.
I also put just a little topper of either tonic water (high quality stuff like Fever-Tree) or 7up and give it a good stir.
Go ahead and garnish with a lime slice and enjoy with your friends! If you don’t have any friends, call me up, Ill drink with you, I’ll drink with anyone, I don’t give AF.
Make mine a double! 🙂
